Jewellery Care
We use quality materials to ensure that MIMIMA bijoux jewellery can be worn for years to come. Our semi precious gemstones are natural and therefore can be vulnerable to absorbing dirt, humidity, heat, sunlight and to chipping. To enhance the surface texture of our work we do not only use Sterling Silver and Vermeiled Brass but also Silk, Cotton and Leather which need to be handled with care as they can get dirty easily.
Caring
To care for our jewelry, please remove the jewelry prior to showering, bathing, swimming, exercising, and hand washing. Common household chemicals, soaps, and moisturizers or perfumes could cause metals to corrode. Keep your jewellery away from extreme temperatures, humidity or sunlight.
Storing
When the jewelry is not being worn, keep it in the MIMIMA pouch provided, or in a plastic bag sealed away from air, to prevent oxidization. You could also place a small packet of desiccant crystal with it, for when the weather gets more humid.
You should keep your jewellery in separate bags, so that they do not rub together or tangle.
Cleaning
Use a soft cotton cloth (or a glasses cloth) to gently remove the build-up of dirt and tarnish on metal. Do not use tissue paper or any other material that could cause scratching. For the gemstones you can use a clean, soft cloth. For the cotton and silk threads, you can wash them with a soft sponge and mild soap in tepid water or you can use baby wet wipes.
